Safety Manager
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in San Diego, CA for a Safety Manager. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing occupational health and safety programs, conducting safety training sessions, and managing environment health and safety (EHS) procedures. The Safety Manager will also conduct accident investigations and ensure industrial safety compliance on all construction projects.
Responsibilities
Create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures
Evaluate health and safety practice and procedures for risk assessment and following legal guidelines
Conduct accident prevention training and health and safety training
Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions
Investigate accidents and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures for further incidents
Handle worker’s compensation claims in the event of a workplace accident
Suggest solutions, improvements and prevention steps for safety issues
Qualifications
Certified in risk management/safety management
Occupational Health and Industrial Safety skills and knowledge
Experience in Safety Training and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) management
Skills in conducting Accident Investigations
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance standards
Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
Experience in the construction industry is a plus
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has good written/oral communication skills, and has a strong work ethic. The position requires strong construction knowledge, skill, and the ability to communicate effectively with a multitude of project stakeholders.
